Representing the King of Kings
In the United States, we have a pretty casual view of government leaders, and perhaps you have never really thought about who our ambassadors represent. But you and I are also ambassadors, called to be intentional in our representation of the King of Kings.
“If”
Jesus said, “By this shall all men know that ye are My disciples, if ye have love one to another.” But that word “if” isn’t there by accident.
Stuck on Repeat
What kinds of things flow naturally from you in conversation with others? Will you be remembered as one who had the gospel stuck “on repeat”?
Say So!
Psalm 107:1 is a verse that comes to mind often, but recently, I was challenged by the command in the next verse.
No Mighty Work
Ever feel discouraged by the seeming smallness of God’s working? There was a time when Jesus “could do no mighty work” because of unbelief. But there is a special encouragement for us even in that.
God so Loved the World
John 3:16 is a familiar verse to many, but it contains the answers to three important questions about the love of God.
The Simplicity of the Gospel
We often talk about “the gospel,” without really defining it. What is the gospel? Is it really so simple as Mark 1 says it is? (Spoiler! The answer is yes.)
Slow to Speak
Sometimes what we don’t say is just as important as what we do say. God has a lot to say about our words, and being slow to speak is a significant part of glorifying God with our speech. (Part 2 of my James 1:19 series)
Swift to Hear
How good of a listener are you? This first installment of a series based in James 1:19 points out the value of listening, first to God, then to those He brings across our paths.
