Grievous?
Modern societies tend to view obedience as a negative thing, and the concept of God’s commands as something grievous, but the Bible teaches just the opposite.

Rest and Fortify
Times of rest or relief from a physical malady are a blessing from the Lord. But as easy as it is to rejoice in them, it is just as easy to squander the gift of time or extra energy.

Filling our Mindless Moments
The things we do mindlessly to fill time often seem completely neutral, but what does the Bible say about how we use our mindless moments?

The One Who Sees Our Sorrows
When we face a season of sorrows, it is easy to feel like God is far away, or that He is not paying attention to what we are going through. But that is simply not true. Our God sees our sorrows, He knows every detail of what we are going through, and He cares!

Entitled to a Happy Life?
The tendency as a child of God is to assume that God’s care for us will only ever entail what we view as “good.” God is certainly good in His dealings with us, but is a perfectly happy life really what the Bible teaches us to expect?

Lighting the Darkness
Has the world seemed dark to you lately? Christ offers us His light—and asks us to shine it to others still in darkness. But how does that work in our daily lives?

Lean In
What do we do when the tempests of life overwhelm us? How do we keep from being blown over by the unpredictable gusts of emotion?

Seeking God in the New Year
After the busyness and festivity of the Christmas season, we often find ourselves in a slump as we return to the dailyness of life. But what if, as Christians, that slump is actually our souls hungering and thirsting after God?

The Value of a Well-Marked Bible
Bible apps and digital notes can be convenient and helpful, but an old, marked-up Bible can be a great source of encouragement.
